I must confess that my good friend and long time collaborator Mike Ventura, has created the best experiential marketing platform in New York City. Period. The Levi’s Photo Workshop, currently housed at the old Deitch Gallery space in Soho (Wooster Street) – is how brands should be engaging consumers. It is proof that the old methods of advertising are dead and gone.

State of the Moment is a long term project created by David Gensler and Phil Knott – designed to document the creative fabric of New York City. Over 1,000 of the most innovative creative forces have already been recorded – with no end in sight.

I have always been fascinated with the temporary Sukkot Architecture that glows at night, once a year in the street of Williamsburg.

In the coming year, I will be documenting more Hasidic Culture in my home, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The Streets of Brooklyn never age. One rainy Sunday afternoon, 5 boards were confirmed. Rumor has it, 7 boards were already conquered and 8 were possible.
Youth is always Legend.

My new personal space is a classic pre-war walk up in Brooklyn NY. It is a large space, somewhat massive for one person.
It is slowly filling with new memories that have the job of replacing old ones. The light in the space is particularly noteworthy.
A warm north light, it changes drastically in terms of color, but subtly with intensity. There is a view of the city’s skyline, with a direct shot
at the Empire State Building. When I sit and rest, I always face eastward.

Congrats to our close friend Martin on the recent launch of a LIVE version of Streetwear Today Magazine.

The pictures are exceptionally nice – crafted by Nils Muller.

Keep an eye out for the next issue, featuring a ton of content myself and The KDU helped gather.

Recently while working on a client project, I was able to spend time with esteemed artist Ali Dowlatshahi.
It was an honor to spend time with him and his family in his private home and studio. His work, career and life are a true inspiration.

Last year, in December I traveled to Hong Kong on an extended business trip. I had the opportunity to link with Brian from Knowledge, who was a great host. We also had a chance to meet up with Kevin Poon and Edison Chen from Clot. We also met with Chris from IDN magazine, Jimmy Au from the Red Agency – and randomly synced with Emil and Robert from Crooks and Castles. This set of pics is only a small taste of this trip – I will be posting more later this week.

A friend of mine recently told me about New Paltz, New York and the Mohonk Mountain House.
This past weekend, I traveled there to celebrate Jamie’s birthday with a few days of seclusion.

The house is more of a castle.  Old school Blue Blood splendor to the extreme.

The experience begins at the private entrance and continues up a 2 mile drive up the mountain road to the main house.

There is a deep mountain lake surrounded on one side with steep cliffs that are dotted with wooden gazebos, bearing the marks of decades of
visitors carved initials and names.   The hallways are wide and quiet. There is a creepy feeling you only get in building of this scale and age.

Acres of manicured gardens roll up from the house and climb the mountain hills and from the valley side you can see for miles across the Catskill Mountains.

The entire property is a national landmark. Founded 141 years ago,
this place is truly grand and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to escape.

For several years, (2005 – 2007) I heavily documented summers at Coney Island. From my loft in Williamsburg, it is an easy ride to the end of the Q line and Coney Island sits waiting.

I have not been back since they closed much of the old section. I must confess it is not the same and I miss the layers of personalities and characters that carved out a living there.

Stay tuned for a recap of my previous work documenting Coney Island.
