Vanguard Atelier for KDU x ENK / Media Design Lab : TMRWTODAY
‘TMRWTODAY is the active media experience for ENK/TMRW. TMRWTODAY exists to amplify the ideas and actions used to create a progressive future for fashion.’
A hand drawn & brush pen type was used in the initial stages to create this graphic. Honoured to be given the opportunity to offer my first vision toward the future of fashion. Boom!

Type.Face / Illustration / Colour print
Portrait & mixed Type. A project that is a personal challenge and one that will be ongoing as a small series.
I am interested in pulling away from the digital aesthetic with these prints and using analog as the main tool and last source to bring the image to life.
Mixed Message images…

Kodiak / Sketch / Inkwash + Digital
Recently digging in the crates for frame layouts. This one is detailed on my site in the image slider, not as a print.
The original idea was to work with metallic inks as a possibility. This seemed the way forward a few years back. Now, it is hardly cost effective on a small scale, and way too mechanised in the final finish. The only offer it would give to the image is an ultra modern / retro aesthetic.
Humans are complex by nature, prone to making simple tasks complicated, but it is the simple things that stay consistent by their very nature. So this is solely an environmental piece. Reason: Well, we live in a throw away, destructive society. I try to recycle everything possible, and am always in favour of experimenting with anything art related, but it has to come full circle. To show qualities in the image I used charcoal, recycled inks, printer ink & 100% environmentally friendly colour processed recycled paper.

Type.Face / Illustration / Colour print
Portrait & mixed Type is the outline for this project, in a layout that worked well as a composition of colour / content.
A project that is a personal challenge and one that will be ongoing as a small series.
Without giving away to much detail of the specific background to the series, it is to have a bolder message as the overall theme.
The above image was a case study that started in digital and progressed to be more analog in practice with the result being a very good healthy balance of the two combined.

Phase 1 :
In reference to my recent website blog & a mention that this image will be documented, so here we are at the start of the process.
A4 standard cartridge paper using a Derwent 4b medium for thick dark areas. The aim is to keep a high saturation in shaded areas, minimum detail required at this stage.
I have 2 final idea layouts ready and will possibly do both as a personal test for the variety. Next phase is ready to mash up with abstract elements, using illustration and textures, so, digital for one, traditional for the other.
Ready to weigh and measure the next Phase. To be continued.

Protect Ya Neck.
Still a banger to this day. Without listing an entire discography of classics, remixes and major credits to the clan founders & members, I’m just touching on the brand. Aside from one other behemoth of a Hip Hop brand to hit the globe from the United States some years ago, the ‘W’ is still a huge statement of unrivalled stature. It represents a balanced structure, a pure blending of styles and artistic vision.
When it comes to music, I can be a fanatic, showing my age, and pointing the finger at young heads and saying ‘You aint seen nothing until you saw a live hip hop gig’.
Music plays a huge part in my life. Music, like Art is an entire movement, sometimes the two collide and fuse to offer strategy and direction on many levels. Like art and its disciples, we all need to breathe it, live it and become accustomed to its movement.
Respect to the Wu Tang Clan, here is my homage ( 1 of 4 in progress )

A vision to ‘Destroy the Machines’ was to mix organic and mechanical forms to create a fused compound in constant evolution and motion. Structure vs Growth. A hand inked background was scanned and added to offer a movement to the illustration framework as we near our minds toward the atomic frame and realise the infinite.
The contrast and conflict is that it lacks a certain aggression in making a statement and thorough intention.
Although a machine was used to execute the design, it is more a visual that represents energetic organic ascension as opposed to digital devolution.

It is no secret that i’m a big fan of RYZ. Their contests are a great opportunity for all participants to not only gain a little exposure, but also gather constructive criticism and fine tune the detail within designs. The template and render application is truly a great way to visualize conceptual ideas and see them in full display from various angles. Above is my 5 color entry into the recent ‘Back to the 50’s contest’ which will offer $1000 to the winning visual of a coordinated Tshirt and Hi-top Shoe design, which may also be merchandised in a retail store. Voting continues until Dec 10th.
Anyhow, here is what I came up with. Just click on either pic to expand the full image.

NO.STASIS
This is the first installment from a private study group that was started a month or so ago. The artists involved are handpicked specifically for their creative ability within their chosen field, ranging from illustration and digital art to photography. Brief #1 concentrated on evolution of species within the environment. The choice of image here represents, irregular sturdy geometry, a spider nest, a shadow and the arachnid itself, four basic perceptions. Early days for the group, seeking to expand a web and print presence with a view to exhibit at a later date.
