Recent new piece that looks great on print, it is has a neat aesthetic to it from every angle.
I started using hand written words at the beginning of the year, so, this is a strong visual reference to most of my work now.
There is a simple system of arrangement and process to get the effect used here, which in terms of an identity development, is a good look.
Whilst colour is always a good challenge, and of course there is a need for it, some newer pieces are simple black & white.
My view is that there is still so much depth to discover between these two tones, yet colour is just as pleasing for colour specific visuals that warrant.
This works well. Oh, colour items on the way too.

In a nutshell my own development using an array of mixed media, every tool I have is being used fully and cranked hard!
This has been a long time coming, so for me, it is a milestone reached. After a few discussions around the table, plenty of caffeine, days melding into nights and nose to grind. I have been looking through a vast selection of old work that to me, is just that, old. The only way to push past this kind of ‘block’ was to scrap some, keep some, build anew. Still the same one man show, but this time, more determined with a whole trunk of focus.
I am very aware that this point was reached well over a year ago, during this swift development, one of the main factors was by reading my personal journal posts and how slow and frustrating the process has been.
To quote the previous post, production time is now much swifter, paying much close attention to mediums used + file types to ensure size aspect & resolution stays exact.
Fully confident that this will develop much further as my own language as an Artist and Designer.

A hand drawn & brush pen type was used in the initial stages to create this graphic. Honoured to be given the opportunity to offer my first vision toward the future of fashion. Boom!

I am interested in pulling away from the digital aesthetic with these prints and using analog as the main tool and last source to bring the image to life.

Kodiak / Sketch / Inkwash + Digital
Recently digging in the crates for frame layouts. This one is detailed on my site in the image slider, not as a print.
The original idea was to work with metallic inks as a possibility. This seemed the way forward a few years back. Now, it is hardly cost effective on a small scale, and way too mechanised in the final finish. The only offer it would give to the image is an ultra modern / retro aesthetic.
Humans are complex by nature, prone to making simple tasks complicated, but it is the simple things that stay consistent by their very nature. So this is solely an environmental piece. Reason: Well, we live in a throw away, destructive society. I try to recycle everything possible, and am always in favour of experimenting with anything art related, but it has to come full circle. To show qualities in the image I used charcoal, recycled inks, printer ink & 100% environmentally friendly colour processed recycled paper.

Portrait & mixed Type is the outline for this project, in a layout that worked well as a composition of colour / content.

Without giving away to much detail of the specific background to the series, it is to have a bolder message as the overall theme.
The above image was a case study that started in digital and progressed to be more analog in practice with the result being a very good healthy balance of the two combined.
Analog + Digital Graffiti / Type / Texture
The texture that I was keen to execute as a digital visual, was a simulated rough surface that has been sprayed with aerosol. With this in mind, I always seek to put together designs that have multiple uses across the board.
Starting off with a complex looking but basic layout as a pen background, the type and layer fade is all the project needed.
First phase was a template with the letters cut out of card. Initially wanting to do a painted type print, the paint was an incorrect mix and it looked wack.
Second was a mock up on cartridge paper to check the composition. The cut letters were then scanned, including the texture, and the handwriting. The final draft was put together in layers, with colour content added for the aerosol look and minor special effects. It would have been cool to use canned paint for the entire piece, nevertheless an enjoyable project and one to push forward.
A vision to ‘Destroy the Machines’ was to mix organic and mechanical forms to create a fused compound in constant evolution and motion. Structure vs Growth. A hand inked background was scanned and added to offer a movement to the illustration framework as we near our minds toward the atomic frame and realise the infinite.
The contrast and conflict is that it lacks a certain aggression in making a statement and thorough intention.
Although a machine was used to execute the design, it is more a visual that represents energetic organic ascension as opposed to digital devolution.
Recently picking up a little pace with photographic work to organize an extension to the existing portfolio. I have a keen interest in black and white photography, albeit digital. The play of light and shadow always intrigues me, and aside from architecture, there is nothing finer than sculptured, carved or crafted statues worn by the elements as a test against time.
Atmospheric with an aged aesthetic preferred, with respect for all traditional methods.
An invitation was sent en mass to submit a studio entry based on the TRON theme in collaboration with ADIDAS. Even though my designs were not picked, it may be worth a mention here. Initially the proposed images that were mocked up amounted to around 30, some repeat and remixed images with varied colorways reflective of the team colors in the new movie.
The strap line on the images was ‘FUTURESPORT’.
A healthy personal insight when attempting to handle a larger project in the correct manner.
