Text over image // Multi-layered // Mask
Another recent addition whilst working on a couple of mask related images. Was looking at ways to produce a chrome effect to sharpen the surface and give it some depth/dimension. Using a variety of mediums, this exploration is what I would see as part of a sticker set or a board graphic.
Inspired by Ukiyo-e & the transmission of tales.

Rage . Fury . Intense / Mixed Media
Recent new piece that looks great on print, it is has a neat aesthetic to it from every angle.
I started using hand written words at the beginning of the year, so, this is a strong visual reference to most of my work now.
There is a simple system of arrangement and process to get the effect used here, which in terms of an identity development, is a good look.
Whilst colour is always a good challenge, and of course there is a need for it, some newer pieces are simple black & white.
My view is that there is still so much depth to discover between these two tones, yet colour is just as pleasing for colour specific visuals that warrant.
This works well. Oh, colour items on the way too.
‘Crack Whips Ride Hard’ / Mixed Media
This is an old type piece, rather than scrap it, I thought the you may like it.
Completed in three colours, black on white has more impact. Reviewing various + & – of using mixed media.
This is only a reference piece that has been printed, although it looks pretty good on screen.

InkFace / New Development / Mixed Media :
Here is the latest edition of artwork.
In a nutshell my own development using an array of mixed media, every tool I have is being used fully and cranked hard!
This has been a long time coming, so for me, it is a milestone reached. After a few discussions around the table, plenty of caffeine, days melding into nights and nose to grind. I have been looking through a vast selection of old work that to me, is just that, old. The only way to push past this kind of ‘block’ was to scrap some, keep some, build anew. Still the same one man show, but this time, more determined with a whole trunk of focus.
I am very aware that this point was reached well over a year ago, during this swift development, one of the main factors was by reading my personal journal posts and how slow and frustrating the process has been.
To quote the previous post, production time is now much swifter, paying much close attention to mediums used + file types to ensure size aspect & resolution stays exact.
Fully confident that this will develop much further as my own language as an Artist and Designer.
You can find a page to continually reference all of my old/new personal musings & mess right here
Prima Facie/Facient :
Pen / Scan | Abstract | speed test.
Having never fully exercised working on words, except for writing & a set of png letters for poster plates years ago, thought it may be time to give it more thought.
Executed from ‘one’ file alone. One simple quickly written image to scan + 3 programs using the same file for the entire construction of the image.
Now, the original file was intended for a collab weeks ago, as it never happened, here it is.
The time taken for the two lettering files from scan to finish, the background, including one background element was well under 4 hours.
Well, some may point out that it could be better, sure, or another choice of wording perhaps, the point is, that with combined efforts, time constraints should not be an issue.
Production time is now much swifter. Also paying much more attention to file types used over the past couple of years to ensure size aspect & resolution stays exact.
This is not as comfortable as splashing paint, but holds awesome possibilities alongside older digital languages/work that could have been pitched. Keep everything.
This would look just as good, better in fact, in paint…
‘Bohemian Vintage’ / Art Direction & Photography – session 1
This is a selection of a recent Art Direction & Photography with my good friend & professional model Alice la Vie.
Having a massive interest in photography, and only recently started to pursue a more varied selection and style to my work worthy of serious dedicated art direction. Point & shoot right?
There has been so much amazing feedback to my photography, this together with wanting to steer clear of Architecture as the main field of study, so decided to arrange a couple of photoshoots. The female form is the next logical step from architecture, with a good study of light and shadow, but colour rather than black & white is a huge challenge for me.
Alice is great to work with, we get on very well, she is also an alternative model, more to the point she is highly adaptable at pushing her own creativity, and certainly not a flake like many other ladies that I have come across. She is well aware of her limitations and knows how to push herself to achieve results. On the day we both worked super hard gathering as much variation to our styles as possible, throwing around a good amount of ideas and inspired themes. This selection of clothing ( models own ) gave me a good opportunity to mix up the colour & blend a vintage lighting style into the composition. Here you can also see a good selection of prints chosen from this particular photo session as further aesthetic communication. Rather than just taking random shots, there was some format involved in producing high quality images for a purpose.
On the day we completed 3 strong visual sessions / themes + a hundred or so test shots & deletions.
My conclusion is that the photography part was easy, with a little direction. Now, if you are working as a team, it is essential to communicate, this allows entire creative freedom with super positive results.

SACRED Print pack detail for A Company Of Wolves -
Inclusions: selected Architecture, border detail, identity, transparent overlays, front & rear id cards, packaging + stickers.
A Company of Wolves is an ideal experience of Art & Design aimed at serving the public with a purposeful injection. To fuel.
Many art related platforms & sites are strategically curated to form a community of a simple unified digital experience. This is all well and good, but where do traditional portions of practice reside? The only realistic + tangible form of progress to further a varied aesthetic is in print. This view of the collective / collaborative pack is shared & exercised by the design, curation, print & production of ‘Print packs‘. This is a well structured addition to the art community, in which we will also seek to adopt further members based upon skill, technical knowledge, consistent communication, style, but more importantly growth of the entire group dynamic.
A Company Of Wolves differs in that :
- Descriptive theory contained within our studies
- There is unique exposure
- Curated packs
- Our audience shares gallery / exhibition level visual appeal
- The art experience is sensory
- Ongoing, unified ideating, on a personal level
- There are no visual constraints
- Every piece is highly collectable

Evaluating some new communication pieces, also trying out new machine tools alongside pencil. Everything is printed to get an overall feel of any artwork. Nothing truly lives unless it is outside of the box.
The type is based on ‘Wicked Grit’. Being a fan of alternative fonts that are not widely used, it really was put to good use here.
The overall composition is as intended, an explosive force.
LYDON/Art/Type & Elements
It is Jubillee time here in Old Blighty, and what better way to celebrate than to see John Lydon reminding us of one of the most valued, pressed vinyls to ever be released originally on A&M. Released during the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977 to much criticism, it remains highly controversial.
The original cover artwork was completed by the serious British artist Jamie Reid. The piece above however is just for kicks.
The local efforts for Marine Biology are second to none. This includes a vast regeneration and breeding program for small organisms and aquatics, including the coelenterate and more notably, the Jelly Fish.
It really is an amazing life form that boasts an estimated species habitation here of some 600 million years or so. It has a body structure of 95% water, contains massive amounts of protein and can reproduce both sexually and asexually. The way that the Jelly Fish processes information is still today a complete mystery. We can only speculate, as we do at every observation.
Update to follow
Poster composition & Print / Charity
May I draw your attention to this months posting. When looking back over the past year or so, one steady item has remained. Something that all of you could do if you spare a little time. Over 3-4 years I have raised money for various charities by donating canvas artwork, mostly of an abstract nature. Yeah ok, ‘paint splashes’, Donated for charities that resonate with health issues that family members have faced, battled, won and lost. The article here this month is charity based.
The Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen – a charity that is vital in offering emergency and welfare support to families of injured, wrecked or deceased deep sea fishermen across the UK, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Also for those who do not know, that during 2 World Wars, Trawlermen were an independant force whilst sweeping for mines and aiding evacuations.
The piece of work here reflects what I consider to be an Ensign, which was also the name of the first Mission ship. As the first part of the donation I am also taking part in a Night Trek across rough terrain which will also help to raise vital funding.
There are currently 50 copies of this modest sized gloss stock poster for keeps, with all procedes to be given fully to the Fishermens Mission.
Vanguard Atelier for KDU x ENK / Media Design Lab : TMRWTODAY
‘TMRWTODAY is the active media experience for ENK/TMRW. TMRWTODAY exists to amplify the ideas and actions used to create a progressive future for fashion.’
A hand drawn & brush pen type was used in the initial stages to create this graphic. Honoured to be given the opportunity to offer my first vision toward the future of fashion. Boom!
In house, hand made with a 100% recycled, high wool content.
Objective : Use good design to make an item that will last long, serving an everyday / seasonal purpose, without using substitute acrylic.
The outcome here is 3 sizes / styles of hat made for long term personal use, made with low manufactured (Dyed & treated) 10 year old spun wool to create the Atelier Beanie suitable for Man, Woman & Child. Each item has a value, density & warmth that far outweighs cheaper high street products. Original source of the recycled material was unpicked from a conditioned sweater.
BUTCHERS OF BOURGEOIS - Pen, Pencil & Ink sketch time lapse. 1 minute 7 seconds – 676 frames.
Tatto flash inspired image that was specific for my first time lapse project set at 10 sec intervals.
Used here is a small wooden mock up frame for my camera/cell set at the perfect angle to get the close up shots.
Hope you enjoy the visuals here. Check out the short feature on the Toob.
