We at Sub Rosa are proud to make our first post to the KDU Network. While we're currently busy going where no man has gone before, check back often for updates and shiny moon rocks from our recent projects. Up, up and away...

The concept for this video was to simulate a contrast between the rugged user made animated gif graphics across the internet, and dated yet unachievable beauty advertising imagery. Add persian and arabian myspace desktop graphic influences, and the rest is history. Here are some of the designs we created to influence our animations and direction throughout the video with Maya. A link to the video can be found on our site here.

Kdu fam, you get it first. I designed these decks over the holidays as my first project for my pkin art endeavor. I basically pulled elements from every part of my life as positive inspiration, friends family etc. and got it out onto these decks in my signature style. I will be selling them in the next few weeks once i get a store up and figured out. Ill keep everyone posted. Enjoy!

An older song they are rereleasing with her upcoming album, we were approached earlier this summer to bring an animation component to the endless summer vibe of the video. Working with the director we used the the loose concept of animated magazine spreads as a starting point to a variety of graphic extravaganzas sprinkled through the video.

Here also is a link to the video on our site where we also included some of the storyboards that got us to the look we ended up with.

Hello friends, Below is a 3 x 8 foot drawing I created for the KDU/Diesel Only the brave art show in nyc. The concept for this piece was to illustrate through image and lettering visual call outs to every grafitti artist, designer and illustrator that inspired me through their creative bravery. This included graf artists from San Francisco in the 1990s where I grew up, all the way up to current times working as part of the KDU.

The artwork itself was loosely sketched in pencil then filled in with pen and ink, taking me roughly 2 weeks of heavy line work. Inspiration for these piece most obviously are my kdu counterparts. Past inspirations though have been Twist, kaws, reminesce, ICP (San Fran), saiman chow and mike giant.
