The New York Types Letterpress Art Show runs until Jan. 5, 2012 at the ADC Gallery. This show includes the work of ten KDU Core Members: Josh Vanover, Michael Spitz, Sara Blake, Magomed Dovjenko, PJ Richardson, Daren Newman, Wesley Eggebrecht, Typozon, Pete Leonard and Amenth (THMD).

SVSV continues to use art as a vehicle to expand and communicate its anti-mass agenda. This week, we debut three artistic collaborations designed to amplify the core craft philosophy that defines our brand. Our brand believes that the ideas we generate share equal weight with the objects we create. Art is the bridge that connects these two realities.

KDU Partner and renowned artist Josh Vanover teamed with SVSV Founder David Gensler to produce a dark body of work entitled Graphical Degradation. The collaboration is set to continue throughout the year, exploring the darker side of the brand’s personality.

As part of a long-term collaboration, Victor Antonio and SVSV Founder David Gensler
begin to explore a more tactile approach to their aesthetic story telling. The imagery contains messages of revolution and rebirth, fueled by their shared disdain of a completely digital world.

Clothing and objects represent only one part of the SVSV brand offering.
We understand that our audience will ultimately consume more images of our brand than our products.
With that in mind, we treat the associated artwork as an important element, holding as much weight, if not more, in the modern digital age. Our current exploration is the next step in our pursuit of traditional craft colliding with modernity. It is our personal resistance against an almost completely digital world.
