So here I am, a new child who just joined the KDU family. Let me introduce myself:

My name is Michael Ostermann, a 19 year old self-taught digital artist, currently residing in Austria, Vienna. I am fascinated by strange, weird and extraordinary things life has to offer. I like to look behind the curtains and question everything. I’m not interested in normalities, so I try to be completely different than what already has been. I hope that gave you guys at least a little insight on who I am.

One of my dreams is to become one of the best of what I do and by being part of this union, I believe this is a great step forward, so I’m honored to share my work here with all of you.

High-five to all crazy wizards around here, if anybody of you would like to hang out in Skype or talk about collabs and other project, please, feel free to drop me a message.

In case you are interested, here’s my (unfinished) portfolio www.michaelostermann.com and my blog www.michaelostermann.tumblr.com

Here’s my promo, hope you enjoy it!

VOTE for Minga in WMC

Here’s the skinny – i need your help and the best part is it’s super easy! All i need you to do to show support is click the image above or goto this link -  click me – and just click “vote” on the image above or the one titled Mingadigm (that’s me?!) to vote for my inclusion in this exhibition described below! super simple, it helps the process if while you’re voting you are currently logged out of facebook, doesn’t like that for some reason. 1 click is fantastic, but in order to win it’s all about the numbers; so if you’d be so kind as to click “vote” once a day everyday until voting closes,  you’d be completely awesome. thanks for the help. regards minga

It will be seen by hundreds of people (pretty influential people I might add) throughout the festival and the following week.

Talk about getting your name out there and rubbing shoulders with some of the best! Not only will you earn a spot in the gallery, but your name/link will be featured on wmcfest.com and on all print materials!

I decided to share a little teaser of the pitch I made for Melody Eshani. Probably some of you already know Melody Eshani, she is a very talented and original jewelry and accessories designer in Los Angeles. Her products are worn mostly by singers, such as Keri Hilson, Ciara and Rihanna.

My favorite mad scientist of the fashion world is back at it again and more fierce than ever.

Keep and eye on Cheng-Huai Chuang so you can say you heard of him before everyone else.

It is no secret that i’m a big fan of RYZ. Their contests are a great opportunity for all participants to not only gain a little exposure, but also gather constructive criticism and fine tune the detail within designs. The template and render application is truly a great way to visualize conceptual ideas and see them in full display from various angles. Above is my 5 color entry into the recent ‘Back to the 50’s contest’ which will offer $1000 to the winning visual of a coordinated Tshirt and Hi-top Shoe design, which may also be merchandised in a retail store. Voting continues until Dec 10th.

Anyhow, here is what I came up with. Just click on either pic to expand the full image.

Concepts that never saw production, to my knowledge anyhow, because the product was cut half way through. note to self, D&D audio doesn’t pay their bills. odd, cuz they’re supposed to have some of the best audio products on the market today, wonder how that’s possible with open invoices stacking up. either way was good experience and the designs are pretty solid.

Press checking one of the concepts that was chosen for a test at Kohl’s. Turned out pretty hot. loving the detail and pop of the colors, while still having a super soft hand.
