I had a little extra time so I made a illustration of Nicki Minaj inspired by one of her newer videos, “Beez In The Trap”. It was an experimental piece for me. Played with some new ideas and techniques. Check it out.

Messieurs Dames x Au Courant
Americana Collection
Au Courant has reached out to Messieurs Dames and Markus J. Baier to put a luxurious touch on some of America’s classic iconic symbols. Each unique painted print is applied to Au Courant’s signature egyptian tee offered on both black and natural bodies.

I released an ongoing illustration series called “1 kHz”. All illustrations will be available for sale on Tees, Prints, and other products on Society 6. Check out MY BLOG to view the entire series so far!

Heat Sink/Stock/Print
The local efforts for Marine Biology are second to none. This includes a vast regeneration and breeding program for small organisms and aquatics, including the coelenterate and more notably, the Jelly Fish.
It really is an amazing life form that boasts an estimated species habitation here of some 600 million years or so. It has a body structure of 95% water, contains massive amounts of protein and can reproduce both sexually and asexually. The way that the Jelly Fish processes information is still today a complete mystery. We can only speculate, as we do at every observation.

Poster composition & Print / Charity
May I draw your attention to this months posting. When looking back over the past year or so, one steady item has remained. Something that all of you could do if you spare a little time. Over 3-4 years I have raised money for various charities by donating canvas artwork, mostly of an abstract nature. Yeah ok, ‘paint splashes’, Donated for charities that resonate with health issues that family members have faced, battled, won and lost. The article here this month is charity based.
The Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen – a charity that is vital in offering emergency and welfare support to families of injured, wrecked or deceased deep sea fishermen across the UK, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Also for those who do not know, that during 2 World Wars, Trawlermen were an independant force whilst sweeping for mines and aiding evacuations.
The piece of work here reflects what I consider to be an Ensign, which was also the name of the first Mission ship. As the first part of the donation I am also taking part in a Night Trek across rough terrain which will also help to raise vital funding.
There are currently 50 copies of this modest sized gloss stock poster for keeps, with all procedes to be given fully to the Fishermens Mission.

Here’s a project I (Tom Lane – aka Ginger Monkey) created for the good folks at AIR JORDAN. Last summer the team asked whether I would design the packaging artwork for a new limited edition ‘Year of the Dragon’ Air Jordan shoe. What started out as a packaging job then snowballed after the first round of visuals. Eventually my work got incorporated into the shoe design, bag, some apparel, and a few more things to come.
I was challenged with creating a system to the design so that it could adapt to different size boxes and be rejigged by the Air Jordan designers. The final box size was yet to be fully determined so I needed to create artwork that could expand in width and height. All the elements therefore had to be individual so they could be shifted around without destroying the overall effect.
This was a really enjoyable project and working with the team has been one of my favourite collaborative experiences. From the get go I was given the freedom and trust to develop the work as I saw it and the input they gave me was always incredibly constructive and respectable. I’m told everyone is really over the moon with the results.
