Hello internet people!
After a great absence, here is the latest.
First, an artwork done as the cover to the first single of a Brazilian Hip-Hop band called Start.
A little while ago, Start approached me and the kids at Fuzuê (www.fuzuecomunicativo.com) to put some artwork together for their releases.
So, this is the first, and more are yet to come!

Sorry for the delay in posts. I am back in the KDU studios and grinding away on new projects. Travel and clients have been keeping me busy…
Stay tuned for dozens of new photos series and notes on the recent months.

One and Done Studio was featured this month for IdN’s Pick of the Month. The project presented in the column was for the RedCat event ‘The Living Word Project,’ put on in Los Angeles. The poster design was a collaboration with fellow CalArts designer Sean Yoon.

Did an “exit interview” a little while ago with Bijan Berahimi one of the brainchildren behind Fisk, the CalArts student run publication. Find it here and be sure to check out the other interviews as well. Some good stuff from some other recent CalArts grads.

The KDU is proud to work with independent New York Fashion Designer, Blaise Kavanagh on his 2011 Spring Summer collection.

Q-Tip, Black Thought and Quest Love

Quest Love and Aerosyn Lex

The Keystone Design Union in conjunction with Alloy Access worked together to produce the 2010 Hennessy Artistry campaign. This year the Artistry Curators are Quest Love and Black Thought from The Legendary Roots Crew and Q-Tip. Keep your eyes focused on Hennessy for future updates on events, special performances and up to date information.
It was an honor to host the campaign photo-shoot at The KDU compound in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. As Derrick (D-Nice) Jones and Phil Knott photographed the talent, Aerosyn Lex and David Gensler Creative Directed and prepared the days home cooked BBQ.
Special thanks to everyone from all teams that made this amazing day possible.

Aston is a custom sans serif font which is applicable for any type of graphic design – web, logo, print, motion graphics, and more. FontFabric is responsible for this font. I made just the illustrations.

After a long and exciting journey, we are finally ready to present our new studio to the world. The outcome has exceeded all expectations and every detail has come together seamlessly to represent and define the spirit of Candy Black. We wanted to create a space that not only fulfilled the expression of what we feel a Creative Studio should look like, but also showcase our ability to combine Graphic and Interior Design.
Candy Black is a Design Studio working in the fields of branding, creative direction, graphic design and interior design. We believe that design should be memorable and effective and not be restricted to one particular format. We are always on the look out for new ways to answer the briefs of our clients, offering both cutting edge design and new media to traditional craft and production. Although we specialize in graphic and interior design, we like to work across all media in order to maximize the potential of the projects we undertake. Visit www.candyblackblog.com for more photos.
