My name is Gaetan Billault, I’m a graphic designer and illustrator originally from France, but currently living and working in London, after five years living in Dublin, Ireland.
I have an addiction to typography, clean vectorised lines, colour, painting and drawing.
In this epic struggle to become a full-time graphic designer and illustrator I’ve always been divided between my love for vectors and my absolute passion for markers, ink, watercolours, moleskins, doodling and screen printing, so I try to incorporate both digital and handmade elements into my work.

You can see my work on my website or my facebook page.

Here is a little update on what I have been working on, I just joined a Steve Aoki T-shirt Graphic Competition, The brief was to create a graphic using your signature style of illustration along with the silhouette bearded art work provided by them. So here is the art work I created for this competition called ”The Other Side” . Its about a world of friendly creatures and organism, revealing themselves from the other side of their habitat to a place called wonderland. Voting begins on the 25th of January and I would really Appreciate some support. Cheers for the love!

So I spent last couple of days drawing since it’s been such a beautiful weather outside ( whoever is or has ever been in vancouver knows what im talking about. ) I have had this obsession about things organized. I only like looking at photographs or drawings of things organized neatly. Not what my table looks like on a normal day. Quite the opposite.

So the conclusion to this is: This is how my table should look like

Don Pendleton is an American artist whose techniques range from creating digital and hand painted artwork for his legendary body of skateboard graphics to original acrylics on canvas for gallery shows, murals, conceptual art, and installation pieces that merge linguistics with his narrative artistic vision.

His aesthetic compositions resonate from linear organic cubist creations and similarly move to more expressionist forms that deal with issues of communication in a narrative, visual context. He often incorporates references to insects, animals and ambiguous characters to complete his finished compositions. These equivocal Archetypes are in constant interaction competing for space within the linear composition of the painting creating a confluence of tension and issues of communication that is a metaphorical reflection on the state of contemporary society and culture:

“ I was always drawn to this idea of people cohabitating the same space and the conflicts that arise on a regular basis within that space. Whether it’s war or arguments or brushing shoulders or stepping on toes, there’s a consistency within the line and the space but at the same time, there’s tension and conflict and potential for fights. All of that appeals to me when breaking up the space and creating a piece. I like the tension, I like the potential for conflict that people might recognize but I also like that there are characters in there that are basically on top of each other who may look confused or perfectly at ease within the chaos.”

While the preponderance of his artwork is centered on his linear organic cubist, expressionist style, he continues to explore different new techniques to aesthetically complete each project he engages. He is currently working on several new projects for clients that encourage his growing creative repertoire of paintings, graphics, gallery shows and limited editions of silkscreen prints for worldwide exhibition.
