TRUST

TRUST

Pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature, of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay, and death
It’s simple, slow, and uncluttered-and it reveres authenticity above all

We at Laundry! recently completed this animated film for Levi’s showcasing their Trucker jacket collaborations with Opening Ceremony, Neighborhood/Stussy, Billy Reid, Filson and Pendington. Our concept was to create a world made of denim where a single character wearing the collaboration jacket exists within the environment where the partnering jacket company is from, NY, LA, Alabama, New Mexico and Oregon. We built this entire animation with stop motion of the jackets and stills of denim put together in adobe after effects to create a fake sense of dimension. See below for the film.

Sup KDU,

It’s been a little quiet in my neck of the woods. I do have a few things going on that I can’t wait to share with you all once it’s ready. Be on the look out for that.

Until then, stay classy and Happy Thanksgiving.

Of portfolios, I have a few.

My portfolio website is sveinbjorn.com/portfolio. It’s a great overview of my work from 2005-2008. I have a good collection of my posters and other things over at my flickr page. I have a few things up at Coroflot.com/sveinbjorn as well. I have a shocking amount of work that I haven’t gotten around to posting online.

I’ll be adding new stuff here.

I’ve been doing a few things for icelandic gaming company CCP, of EVE ONLINE fame, recently.

Here is an internal poster I did for them. It’s one in a 18th century woodcut style, with a nod to a certain sheep-herder. The illustration was painted by Börkur Einarsson, I did the woodcut finish. The decorations are from old type foundry brocheurs that i combined, re-drew and worked on. The iconography references older internal campaigns.

I finally put together a personal site for my design and illustration work with hopes of pushing the less commercial side creatively and highlighting the less corporate side of my body of design.

Had an awesome Saturday last weekend when i did a demo on how to customize a pair of black white Chuck Taylors.  Was pretty awesome, had a few folks stay the entire demo, was about 3-4hrs long from sketches to inking the final touches on the shows. Many thanks to Utrecht Art Supplies for putting this all together and giving me the opportunity to share one of my passions. thanks
