I designed this wordmark/logo for Ashley O’Dell of  aodell.com photography. this was a great opportunity for me to work with the very talented and witty O’Dell. As classmates back at MIAD, and i’ve always enjoyed her pronounced style of photography. When she approached me to help her out with her logo, it was a sure fire deal.  Check out some Ashley O’Dell’s amazing photography at aodell.com

These shots are also provided curtsy of aodell.com

Many times we end up brokering relationships for our clients and fellow KDU members.
The most recent one of these unions is New York based Nooka Design, lead by designer and KDU member, Matt Waldman – and our french client, Hennessy. This particular project is in celebration of the recently launched Hennessy Black product,
an exciting new cognac designed differently.

One thing that stands out clearly is while the fashion element of Streetwear is not always strong in more obscure European cities, other elements of the culture are ever present. Hip Hop music is the universal glue that binds the culture together, regardless of country or city… but a more powerful, individualistic movement is graffiti. Literally in the most remote corner of the most ancient city, you find layers of hand tags and large murals. In Budapest, the youth culture collides with the cities ancient past. The mighty Danube river cuts the city in two parts, connected by one of the most beautiful bridges in Europe. I would recommend staying at the Four Seasons with a view of the river. The service simply rivaled anything we experienced on the trip and the food was more than noteworthy. The Christmas market was still in full swing and we consumed local foods and shopped for local leather goods. During our stay in Budapest, we rescued a 8 week old Puppy, which we named Buda… he now lives in NYC with us.

WORLDTOURlogo2_sm

Out of any city visited on the first leg of our world tour, Antwerp Belgium won the most inspiring and least hyped city. We visited Dries…, Anna…, Walter…, Yoji… and then stumbled on the almost unmatched new RA store. The city was buried in a cold wave and covered in an inch of ice… a pretty amazing and surreal experience. I have always been a big fan of Walter Van Beirendonck. This guy was doing high fashion street wear before anyone knew what streetwear was… mad respect for taking originality to this level.

When in Belgium, you have to experience the hot chocolate… a hot glass of fresh milk with a big chuck of local chocolate dropped in… heaven.
